New Loki trailer promises the Disney+ show isn't "something Marvel has ever done" before

Is it going to be as out there as WandaVision?

Marvel's Loki is just a week away from dropping on Disney+, so now is the perfect time to drop a behind-the-scenes featurette featuring a few new clips from the series.

In the video, which you can check out for yourself above, Tom Hiddleston promises that the series won't be "something Marvel has ever done" before.

Sure, you could say Marvel has never done a show about a time-travelling God of Mischief before, but we think he's referring to the tone of the show, as he and Owen Wilson talk about the "twists and turns" while we see glimpses of the villain-turned-hero in all sorts of situations.

Of course, we'll have to wait until the show is out to see just how different the series is to anything the MCU has done before, but if these Disney+ shows aren't afraid to bring us WandaVision then we're excited to see them continue pushing the boat out.

The series sees Loki being convinced/forced to work for a group called the Time Variance Authority (TVA) to correct anomalies across the timeline — protecting the "sacred timeline", as Gugu Mbatha-Raw calls it — but will this be the end of Loki in the MCU?

Well, Hiddleston has hinted that he's unsure about his character's future, while a Marvel Studios executive has suggested that it's the kind of show that lends itself to multiple seasons.

So, basically, it looks like we'll have to wait and see on that one.

Loki premieres on June 9, 2021, streaming exclusively on Disney+.
