Insecure's cast share emotional goodbyes on final day of filming

"This was a family that I was privileged to grow with, learn from, and do life with."

Insecure has begun to wrap up its fifth and final season of production with its stars flocking to social media to celebrate.

The show's lead and creator Issa Rae shared a heartfelt message on her Twitter on Friday (June 11), saying she was "forever grateful" for the opportunity to create the show and for the people who made it possible.

Alongside it, she published a few pictures of herself and co-stars Yvonne Orji and Jay Ellis in matching Insecure sweats.

"Today is my last day shooting #InsecureHBO. Said goodbye to some of my favorite people on Earth, on and off screen, this past week. Never imagined all the doors this would open. Forever grateful to those who paved the way for us to do us," Rae's tweet read.

Elsewhere, Orji – who played the role of Molly Carter throughout the series – posted a series of photos from the set on Instagram. In the post, she also explained what it meant to her to be part of the show, describing it as a "blessing".

Alongside the images, Orji posted a thoughtful caption that read: "Last night we said goodbye and God Bless to, not only Molly, but also to our fearless leader, @the_a_prentice [the show's showrunner Prentice Penny]. We cried a river, group-hugged, ate cake & popped multiple bottles.
