Loki writer addresses Steve Rogers' potential involvement with the TVA

Are they just as annoyed with Cap?

Avengers: Endgame jumped headlong into the messy business of time travel, and now Loki is here to deal with the fallout of the film's events (both within the show and in a meta sense).

The God of Mischief has been roped into joining the Time Variance Authority, or TVA for short, who said that him leaving his predestined timeline is a very bad thing and he needs to work with them or be destroyed.

The episode establishes that Avengers briefly going back in time (and, we assume, Thanos' forces coming forward in time) was supposed to happen according to the 'sacred timeline', but what about when Steve Rogers went back in time and stayed there, choosing to live with Peggy Carter and grow old?

Fans have been bending over backwards to come up with theories explaining how that should or shouldn't work, with YouTuber SUPES asking Loki head writer Michael Waldron if he thinks the TVA would have issue with what Steve has done.

"I don't think I can answer that," he said. "I don't think I can answer that. I think maybe... I think maybe just keep watching."

That seems to us like an admission that it will be addressed but he can't give anything away. Or maybe it won't, and he's just trying to entice people into watching his show...

Waldron has also been teasing fans with the importance of Loki in setting up the second Doctor Strange movie, so let's see how it all unfolds.

Loki is streaming exclusively on Disney+, with new episodes every Wednesday.
